Various Memorial Park Conservancy and Endangered Species Project Carbide Park Prairie Restoration
Memorial Park Conservancy and Endangered Species Media Project have been awarded a year long grant from the Texas Education Agency that will bring students from HISD to Memorial Park for invasive species removal. This is a math and science grant, and the students are going to identify, document, and remove invasives while learning about why they are considered invasives. See attached file for an overview of the program, a map, and a volunteer information sheet for anyone interested in joining Memorial Park Conservancy. The dates in the overview for the fall ’08 and spring ’09 trips are tentative pending approval from Houston Parks and Recreation Department.
