Advanced Training

The Texas Master Naturalist program develops local teams of master volunteers to provide educational and outreach services aimed at the better management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities. Many training classes are available for volunteers to receive the training they need to be successful. For all advanced training classes approved by the Board, click the links below.

Chapter Sponsored Training

For ONLY Chapter Sponsored Advanced Training, see the Chapter Calendar.

Training Available outside our Chapter

Sometimes the Chapter doesn't offer a class on a subject you want to investigate. You can take training classes from other sources - just verify the class will be recognized as advanced training before you take it! Many classes are available from the Houston Audubon Society, Houston Arboretum and Nature Center, and Jesse H. Jones Park and Nature Center. Texas Parks and Wildlife offers many training opportunities through their Texas Nature Tracker programs. These include: Texas Amphibian Watch, Texas Mussel Watch, Texas Monarch Watch and Texas Hummingbird Roundup.
